
Tim Coffield

Tim Coffield is the owner and operator of Coffield PLC, which focuses primarily on civil litigation, employment, civil rights now and, contract disputes, and business and estate planning. Tim based his operations out of Charlottesville, Virginia, and founded his law firm in 2012. Tim Coffield is licensed to practice in both North Carolina and Virginia. Tim has years of experience litigating, managing, and resolving civil cases in lawsuits named Boswell v. Panera Bread Co. Tim represented a plaintiff employee class. The issue recently was awarded a multi-million dollar judgment on behalf of the class members. In addition, Tim has been successful in multiple lawsuits, including recently his arguments before the Fourth Circut Court of Appeals, as he obtained a partial reversal in a civil rights case, Goines v. Calley Cmty Servs. Bd.
Since the inception of Coffield PLC, Tim Coffield’s primary goal since the advent of Coffield PLC was to craft a practice that allows its clients to define the practice. Tim believes it’s imperative to meet the clients’ needs of clients if you want to find success as a law firm. Because of this bone-deep belief, Tim focuses heavily on creating personalized and cutting-edge legal strategies for his clients. As a result, Coffield PLC is almost exclusively is devoted to practicing its time representing employees.
Before striking out on his own with Coffield PLC, Tim practiced environmental and natural resource law. He focussed heavily on both state and federal environmental issues centered around clean water laws. During his time at Trout Unlimited, he worked as both a Law Clerk and a Law Fellow focusing on legal and regulatory matters related to various variety of issues including regulation of gas pipeline and state water use regulations. Tim Coffield also spent time focusing on the advocacy side of environmental regulation. He worked with a variety of environmental conservation groups to inform and craft enviornmental laws.
